RDA Kimberley acts as a conduit to connect the Kimberley community with funding opportunities from all levels of government. We can provide potential applicants with advice and guidance on the following government grant opportunities.

Commonwealth & State Government Funding

Building Better Regions Fund

The Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) supports the Australian Government’s commitment to create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future.

The fund invests in projects located in or benefiting eligible areas outside the major capital cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Canberra.

Regional Growth Fund

The Regional Growth Fund will provide grants of $10 million or more for major transformational projects that support long-term economic growth and create jobs in regions undergoing structural adjustment.

Northern Australia Infrastructure Fund

The Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF) is a $5 billion lending facility to provide loans to infrastructure projects in northern Australia, including the Kimberley.

NAIF can lend up to 100% of the debt, providing there is appropriate risk sharing and can be used for the development of new infrastructure or materially enhancing existing infrastructure.

Regional Economic Development Grants

The Regional Economic Development (RED) Grants program is a State Government initiative that invests in community driven projects to stimulate economic growth and development in regional Western Australia.

Up to $250,000 is available for individual projects that promote sustainable jobs, partnerships, productivity, skills and capability, as well as stimulate new investment and industry diversification.

Kimberley Shires

Kimberley shires provide a range of services and funding opportunities to assist local community-based organisations to establish a partnership for the promotion and development of social, cultural, economic, recreational, environmental and reconciliation projects and initiatives.
